Allina Health facility to combine mental health, addiction treatment

Allina Health is set to begin development of a facility that offers mental health and addiction treatment under one roof.

"We know we do better when we work together and this revolutionary facility provides critical programs in one location, transforming our ability to provide patient-centered care and expand our capacity for mental health and addiction patients and their families," Lisa Shannon, PhD, president and CEO of the health system, said in a news released shared with Becker's on Sept. 20.

The 50,000-square-foot Center for Integrated Mental Health and Addiction Care will offer intensive day programs and outpatient mental health and addiction care services and is set to be built on the Mercy Hospital campus in Fridley, Minn.

Allina Health partnered with local care groups, which will offer services including mental health and addiction urgent care, food assistance, access to county programs and crisis beds at the facility, the release said.

The center is slated to open in early 2024.
