Acadia, Tufts Medicine break ground on 144-bed behavioral hospital

Construction is underway on Franklin, Tenn.-based Acadia Healthcare and Burlington, Mass.-based Tufts Medicine’s joint behavioral hospital.

The 144-bed facility is being built in Malden, Mass., according to a March 27 news release. It is slated to open in the fall of 2025. 

The hospital will also serve a teaching facility for psychiatry and other behavioral health professionals, training students and residents from the Tufts University School of Medicine. 

Acadia Healthcare has opened several joint venture projects with health systems in recent years and has several more planned.
