Acadia Healthcare brought in $796 million in revenue in the second quarter of 2024, up 8.8% from the same period last year.
The Franklin, Tenn.-based behavioral health provider reported its second-quarter results July 31.
Here are five numbers to note from the organization's earnings report:
- Acadia brought in $78.5 million in income in the quarter, up 8.6% year over year.
- Revenue from the health system's existing facilities increased 8.3% year over year to $776 million in the second quarter. Revenue per patient day increased 5.6%.
- The organization admitted 49,091 patients to its existing facilities in the second quarter, up slightly from the same period last year. The average length of stay was 15.8 days, up from 15.5 days year over year.
- Acadia added 37 beds to its existing facilities in the second quarter. It also opened a new 100-bed facility in Mesa, Ariz.
- The health system expects to add 1,200 beds by the end of 2024. Acadia plans to open four new inpatient facilities in the second half of 2024, two of which are joint ventures with other health systems. Acadia will add 400 beds to its existing facilities and open up to 14 new comprehensive treatment centers for opioid use disorder in 2024.
