Here are nine behavioral health centers that have opened since Dec. 11:
- Detroit-based Henry Ford Health opened a 192-bed behavioral hospital in West Bloomfield, Mich., Jan. 21. The facility is a joint venture between the health system and Acadia Healthcare.
- Lancaster (Pa.) General Hospital opened a new walk-in clinic for low-risk behavioral health patients, Fox43 reported Jan. 16.
- New Mexico is opening seven certified community behavioral health clinics in January 2025. The clinics are supported by $15 million in state funding. All will offer 24/7 crisis care.
- Chelsea (Mich.) Hospital opened a new intensive outpatient program for adults Jan. 6, MLive reported Dec. 23.
- Coachella Valley Behavioral Health, an 80-bed inpatient behavioral health hospital, opened in Indio, Calif. The hospital features two 20-bed adult inpatient units, a 20-bed unit for adolescents, and a unit for older adults aged 65 and older.
- Toledo, Ohio-based ProMedica opened a new outpatient pediatric mental health facility in West Toledo, Ohio, the Toledo Blade reported Dec. 18. The 20,000-square-foot facility offers intensive outpatient programs.
- HealthAlliance Hospital in Kingston, N.Y., completed a $7 million renovation of its psychiatric unit, the Times-Union reported Dec. 18. The new, 20,000-square-foot unit houses 20 beds.
- Charlottesville, Va.-based UVA Health and Norfolk, Va.-based Sentara Health opened a new clinic for children’s behavioral and neurodevelopmental health. The center will provide care for children with neurodevelopmental conditions, including autism and ADHD, and behavioral health conditions.
- The first phase of a new behavioral unit at Wellspan York (Pa.) Hospital accepted its first patients Dec. 17. When fully complete, the unit will include 56 beds.
