$85M psychiatric hospital to open in Michigan

Caro Psychiatric Hospital in Caro, Mich., is slated to open its doors to patients in the coming weeks, according to a June 6 report from M Live.

The $85 million psychiatric hospital will provide 100 beds across four patient neighborhoods, along with a downtown-themed area which will feature a greenhouse, recreation room, hair salon and other amenities for patients.

The state currently has five in-patient psychiatric hospitals that care for approximately 650 patients, with another set to open in Northville in 2026. The new hospital in Caro is one of three facilities that serve only adult patients, the report said.
