Health systems and behavioral health organizations are opening new outpatient mental health clinics, crisis centers and inpatient units.
Here are eight new facilities to note:
- Lighthouse Behavioral Wellness Centers opened a children's urgent recovery center in Durant, Okla., CBS affiliate KXII reported Nov. 19.
- Inova Fairfax (Va.) Hospital will open a new behavioral health emergency department Nov. 19, according to a news release from the health system. The unit is the first EmPATH, or Emergency Psychiatric Assessment, Treatment and Healing unit in Northern Virginia.
- Nonprofit organization Sweester opened a walk-in mental health clinic in Lewiston, Maine, Fox affiliate WGME reported Nov. 19.
- Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center in Columbia, Md., opened an expanded behavioral health unit Oct. 18, CBS affiliate WJZ News reported. The new unit grows the center's behavioral health capacity from six patients to 24.
- UofL Health opened a renovated medical behavioral unit at UofL Health - Mary & Elizabeth Hospital in Louisville, Ky., Fox affiliate WDRB reported Nov. 11. The $6.6 million unit has 33 beds.
- Santa Fe Recovery Center opened a new crisis center in Gallup, N.M, Nov. 7, NBC affiliate KOB reported.
- Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services opened a newly renovated clinic in Zeeland, Mich., MLive reported Nov. 8. The clinic began accepting patients in late September.
- Monmouth Medical Center in Neptune, N.J., opened a remodeled outpatient crisis center, according to an Oct. 22 news release. The hospital is part of Orange, N.J.-based RWJBarnabas Health.
