Pennsylvania psychologist to lead county HHS department

Tamra Williams, PhD, has been selected to lead the department of health and human services for Montgomery County, Pa.

Dr. Wiliams, a clinical psychologist, steps into this role after serving as chief clinical officer for Philadelphia-based Community Behavioral Health, according to a Feb. 15 news release. While at the behavioral health managed care organization, she led initiatives on health equity and population health.

As department director, Dr. Williams will oversee a variety of county offices concerning behavioral health, including the offices of mental health, developmental disabilities, early intervention, and drug and alcohol.

In addition, she will oversee the offices of public health, children and youth, veterans affairs, senior services, housing and community development, managed care solutions, strategy management, and community connections.
