3 organizations put $5.9M to behavioral health resources: What to know

UnitedHealthcare, the Fox Rock Foundation and the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation gave a total of $5.98 million to multiple behavioral health organizations in three states.

Here is a breakdown of the funding:

  1. UnitedHealthcare awarded more than $180,000 in grants to three New Mexico-based community behavioral health organizations to support mental health in mothers, families and youths in rural communities, according to an Oct. 19 news release from the insurance company.
  1. The Fox Rock Foundation, a philanthropic foundation led by Karen and Rob Hale, gave $1 million to Mass General Brigham’s McLean Hospital in Belmont, Mass., according to an Oct. 18 news release from the hospital. The facility plans to use the funds to improve its children and adolescent mental health center. 
  1. The Daniels Fund, a nonprofit organization based in Denver, gave $4 million to support the expansion of the Betty Ford Center’s substance use disorder and mental health treatment campus in Rancho Mirage, Calif., according to an Oct. 18 news release from the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation.
