The additions will include a 2,422-square-foot mental health center and a 4,343-square-foot expansion of Clay Center Family Physicians, according to a May 1 news release from the medical center shared with Becker’s. The hospital’s emergency department will also be improved, along with an expansion to the parking lot.

The mental health clinic team will include two psychiatric nurse practitioners, a marriage and family therapist and a mental health counselor and is expected to make mental healthcare more accessible across Kansas’ Clay, Cloud, Mitchell, RIley and Washington counties, according to the release.

The expansion to the Clay Center Family Physicians will include new space for general surgery and pulmonology, exam rooms and procedure rooms, the release said.

The entire project is expected to be completed in April 2025.
