28 behavioral health clinic openings

Here are 28 behavioral health treatment facilities that have opened or are now in development through 20 projects, as reported by Becker’s since June 17:

1. Council Bluffs, Iowa-based Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital and Franklin, Tenn.-based  Acadia Healthcare broke ground on a behavioral health hospital.

2. Tampa, Fla.-based nonprofit Gracepoint began development of a $16 million behavioral health hospital that will be staffed exclusively by women.

3. The University of Texas at Tyler, Tyler-based UT Health East Texas and Plano, Texas-based Oceans Healthcare partnered to expand behavioral health services in the eastern part of the state by opening a new facility and expanding an existing clinic.

4. The Texas Health and Human Services Commission began construction on a $573 million replacement facility for Terrell (Texas) State Hospital.

5. Escondido, Calif.-based Palomar Health and Brentwood, Tenn.-based Lifepoint Behavioral Health are set to break ground on a new behavioral health facility in Escondido.

6. St. Louis-based SSM Health is opening the first behavioral health urgent care clinic in the city.

7. Newport (N.J.) Mental Health opened an expanded facility in the city, the Newport Daily News reported Aug. 19.

8. The Milwaukee VA opened a multispecialty clinic offering mental healthcare in Oconomowoc, Wis., CBS affiliate WDJT reported Aug. 18.

9. St Joseph’s Addiction Treatment and Recovery Center unveiled an outpatient clinic in Malone, N.Y., NBC affiliate WPTZ reported Aug. 15. 

10. Kolmac Integrated Behavioral Health opened three new facilities in Dover, Del., Hagerstown, Md., and Cumberland, Md.

11. Montgomery County, Pa., plans to open a $18 million mental health crisis care center in 2025. 

12. Neenah, Wis.-based ThedaCare opened a new behavioral health clinic in Waupaca, Wis. 

13. Brentwood, Tenn.-based Odyssey Behavioral Healthcare opened a new outpatient treatment facility in Troy, Mich.

14. Los Angeles General Medical Center received approval from city officials to construct a $143 million mental health treatment facility.

15. New York City-based Montefiore Health System received approval from the state to create a new center for children’s mental health. 

16. Golisano Children’s Hospital in Rochester, N.Y., opened a walk-in pediatric urgent care center to treat behavioral health concerns. 

17. A shuttered Irving, N.Y., hospital is set to be repurposed as a 100-bed behavioral health facility. 

18. Cleveland-based MetroHealth plans to open a new psychiatric emergency department in the wake of another in the area closing its doors. 

19. Texas aims to increase access to inpatient mental healthcare via seven new state hospital projects.

20. Salt Lake City-based Intermountain Healthcare is planning a $96 million pediatric behavioral health center.
