The new clinic will offer urgent care treatment for mental health and substance use disorders as Kalamazoo County’s first behavioral health urgent care and access center, according to a July 10 news release.

The center includes a police and ambulance entrance, which allows the center to serve as an alternative to emergency rooms for patients experiencing behavioral health crises. It also includes a same-day access center for nonurgent walk-in behavioral health services.

The center officially opened July 10 and 24/7 services will begin July 24.

At the Becker's Fall Behavioral Health Summit, taking place November 4–5 in Chicago, behavioral health leaders and executives will explore strategies for expanding access to care, integrating services, addressing workforce challenges and leveraging innovation to improve outcomes across the behavioral health continuum.
