$207M in grants, funding for behavioral health projects in 3 weeks

Here are eight behavioral health grant, gift and funding stories Becker’s has covered since June 27:

  1. The Permian Basin Behavioral Health Center in Midland, Texas, received a $25 million gift from the J.E. and L.E. Mabee Foundation.
  2. West Virginia University Medicine’s Wheeling and Glen Dale-based Reynolds Memorial hospitals received a $2.2 million grant from the Renner Foundation to enhance mental and behavioral health programs.
  3. Madera County (Calif.) Behavioral Health Services was named the recipient of a nearly $25 million grant to support the Madera County Youth/Adult Crisis Stabilization Unit and the Adult Sobering Center project.
  4. The Steven & Alexandra Cohen Foundation gifted $35 million to NewYork-Presbyterian to expand the organization’s behavioral health services for children and adolescents.
  5. HHS’ Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration awarded $31.5 million in behavioral health grants for children and young adults. 
  6. Bakersfield, Calif.-based Kern County Behavioral Health and Recovery Services was awarded $32 million from the California Department of Health Care Services.
  7. The El Paso, Texas, region received $50 million to expand mental health access and resources.
  8. Snohomish County, Wash., provided $6.5 million in funding for youth mental health.
