11 behavioral health grants totaling $124M

Here are 11 behavioral health grants total over $124 million that Becker's has reported on so far in October:

  1. Maine Behavioral Healthcare received a five-year, $2 million grant to support its suicide prevention efforts.
  2. ​The West Virginia Department of Human Resources' Bureau for Behavioral Health received over $33 million in federal funding from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.
  3. TidalHealth Nanticoke in Seaford, Del., received a $1 million congressionally directed spending grant to develop a dedicated and private behavioral health treatment area within its emergency department.
  4. The Arkansas Department of Human Services announced a $9.5 million grant program with the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock.
  5. Dubuque, Iowa-based Hillcrest Family Services received a $4 million federal grant to support its mental health services.
  6. Mississippi State University in Starkville received a nearly $1 million grant to support behavioral health services in rural communities across the state.
  7. The Paso del Norte Health Foundation awarded over $1 million in grants focusing on mental health and well-being initiatives in the El Paso, Texas, area.
  8. Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield's Blue & You Foundation for a Healthier Arkansas donated $5.9 million to support youth mental and behavioral health in the state.
  9. The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services received a four-year, $14.8 million grant from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration to support mental health programs for children and families across the state.
  10. The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration awarded the Hawaii State Department of Health $17 million to support emergency behavioral health services following the Maui wildfires.
  11. SAMHSA awarded $35 million to support essential behavioral health services and HIV prevention and care in historically underserved populations.
