The “State of Mental Health in America 2023” report surveyed individuals from all 50 states and Washington, D.C., to assess the state of mental health in the U.S. The data was collected from 2019 to 2020 and is the most recent information available.
The report ranked the states based on metrics including the number of adults and children diagnosed with a mental illness, the number of those who did not receive treatment and who are uninsured. The full methodology can be found here.
