New Haven, Conn.-based Yale School of Medicine, Yale School of Public Health and the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences will conduct the study, according to an Aug. 29 news release.
The study will follow 1,800 patients with mental illness and a control of 600 patients without mental illness over five years to predict treatment outcomes and characterize behavioral symptom changes over time.
Researchers will use traditional assessments of mental health and AI-powered analysis of patients’ descriptions of their experiences and electronic health records. The goal of the research is to use the data collected to develop more personalized treatment plans based on how individuals responded to past treatments.
