The award is given annually at the American Football Coaches Association convention to a football coach who has exceeded expectations as a national awareness ambassador, according to a Jan. 26 release.

Mr. Fritz has been an ambassador for the Jason Foundation since 2022, conducting several public service announcements on the foundation’s mission and the prevention of suicide, the third largest cause of death for Louisiana youth ages 10-24.
