Reno, Nev.-based Renown Health has launched a confidential mental health program, Code Phoenix, for clinicians and first responders experiencing behavioral health crises, according to a Dec. 4 report from NBC affiliate News 4.
The program is available through a partnership between Renown’s Crisis Care Center and the Nevada Division of Public and Behavioral Health. It will support professionals regularly exposed to trauma and high-stress environments, including physicians, nurses, EMTs and law enforcement officers.
Code Phoenix offers 24-hour crisis observation, psychiatric evaluation, access to peer support specialists and other stabilization services. The program aims to reduce stigma and barriers to care by providing privacy from the “first phone call to the last step of care.”
