Paso del Norte Health Foundation designates $1M to mental health efforts

The Paso del Norte Health Foundation has awarded 10 grants totaling over $1 million focusing on mental health and well-being initiatives in the El Paso, Texas, area.

The funds will be used to provide training, classes and resources focused on reducing stigma and increasing access to mental and behavioral health services in the borderland, according to an Oct. 4 news release.

Grant recipients include:

  • Big Brothers Big Sisters of El Paso
  • Centro Caritativo para atencion de Enfermos de Sida A.C.
  • Comision de Salud Fronteriza Mexico-Estados Unidos 
  • El Paso Center for Children
  • Families and Youth, Inc.
  • Family Services of El Paso
  • New Mexico State University Foundation
  • Paso del Norte Children’s Development Center
  • Texas A&M University’s Colonias Project Cares
  • The University of Texas at El Paso
