NYC Health + Hospitals has expanded its youth mental health program, Caring Transitions, to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi in the Bronx.
This program aims to support the growing mental health crisis with a focus on patients who have attempted suicide or present suicidal behavior, according to a July 15 news release.
Originally launched last year at the Elmhurst and Queens locations, the $2.4 million program expanded to NYC Health + Hospitals’ Lincoln location earlier this year.
NYC Health + Hospitals has plans to expand to a fifth site at its North Central Bronx location later this year. The municipally run hospital provides around 60% of the behavioral health services delivered in New York City, according to the news release.
