MLB hosts mental health meeting with sports leagues

Major League Baseball recently hosted its biannual MLB Mental Health Meeting to discuss mental health policy for its athletes.

The event included representatives from all 30 MLB clubs, the MLB Players Association, NFL, NBA, NHL and Major League Soccer, according to a July 19 news release. 

The event featured discussions on many aspects of player mental health, ranging from substance abuse and treatment to sleep and cognitive behavioral therapy. The meeting also included panels featuring three former MLB players who spoke to their experience with mental health.
