The Mental Health Services for Students Act would partner schools with local mental health providers to develop on-site services and help school personnel recognize and identify students in need of mental health support, according to a June 12 news release.
The legislation would provide $300 million in federal funding to local educational agencies, tribal schools and other community-based organizations to help develop these partnerships.
