The DuPage County Health Department is set to open a new crisis recovery center the week of Sept. 1 in Wheaton, Ill., offering 24/7 mental health and substance use services, NBC Chicago reported Aug. 26.
The nearly $26 million facility includes seven triage rooms, five “sobering spaces” and capacity to serve up to 42 people daily.
The center will provide immediate support from crisis counselors, case managers, psychiatrists and nurse practitioners across three units, the report said.
At the Becker's Fall Behavioral Health Summit, taking place November 4–5 in Chicago, behavioral health leaders and executives will explore strategies for expanding access to care, integrating services, addressing workforce challenges and leveraging innovation to improve outcomes across the behavioral health continuum.
