California county gets $32M for youth mental health programs

Bakersfield, Calif.-based Kern County Behavioral Health and Recovery Services has been awarded $32 million from the California Department of Health Care Services, according to a June 28 report from ABC affiliate KERO.

The funding will go toward new infrastructure, including $15 million for a new housing unit for people with substance use and mental health needs and $17 million for a new youth crisis stabilization unit and a family resource center.
