Providence, R.I.-based Brown University Health has merged its adult partial hospital programs at both Newport and Rhode Island hospitals into a single virtual platform.

The new program delivers intensive, short-term mental health care to adults across southeastern New England, according to an Oct. 7 news release. It also offers multidisciplinary psychiatric care with expanded access to specialty services, including trauma, dual diagnosis, emotional dysregulation and young adult mental health care.

The program features five clinical tracks: general mental health, young adult, trauma, co-occurring disorders, and emotional awareness and regulation. The co-occurring disorders track supports patients managing both mental health and substance use conditions, according to the news release.

Sarah Schmidhofer, MD, director of the adult partial hospital program at Brown University Health, said the integration enables a broader range of therapy offerings while maintaining personalized, team-based care.
