From a sample of more than 300,000 mental health service cases for U.S. employees, anxiety was the most common reason to be seeking treatment, overtaking depression, stress, partner or relationship issues, family issues, addiction and grief, according to a March 26 news release from the company.
“For business leaders, there is an imperative to help employees cope with these feelings,” Richard Chaifetz, PsyD, founder, CEO and chair of ComPsych, said in the release. “Companies who invest in resources for employees ultimately benefit by attracting and retaining a healthier and more productive workforce, allowing both employees and companies to thrive.”
