All 50 states ranked by mental illness access, prevalence

The 2023 State of Mental Health in America report ranks states based on 15 criteria to identify which states struggle most when looking at the prevalence of mental illness combined with issues of insurance coverage and access to treatment.

The states ranked first have a lower prevalence of mental illness and higher rates of access to care. 

Here is the overall ranking of the 50 states, according to the report published on Oct. 13, 2022:
