4 Chicago libraries now offering mental health services

Four libraries in Chicago will begin offering mental health services as part of the city’s plan to expand its mental health network in all 77 neighborhoods, Block Club Chicago reported March 24.

The program will be offered at library branches in the Mount Greenwood, Beverly, Blackstone and Edgewater neighborhoods. These areas were selected because they are places with few no-barrier mental health providers.

Individuals 13 and older can be seen by clinicians regardless of ability to pay, insurance or immigration status.

At the Becker's Fall Behavioral Health Summit, taking place November 4–5 in Chicago, behavioral health leaders and executives will explore strategies for expanding access to care, integrating services, addressing workforce challenges and leveraging innovation to improve outcomes across the behavioral health continuum.
