The plan, called the CHIP report, was designed by the Douglas County Health Department, the Pottawattamie and Sarpy Cass Health Departments, Omaha-based the Wellbeing Partners and community input.
The plan integrated feedback that community members reported in 2020. The feedback drove the development of the plan’s four main goals: connecting individuals to more social support services, reducing the stigma surrounding mental illnesses and substance use disorders, enhancing access to mental health and preventive care, and understanding trauma, according to the report.
At the Becker's Fall Behavioral Health Summit, taking place November 4–5 in Chicago, behavioral health leaders and executives will explore strategies for expanding access to care, integrating services, addressing workforce challenges and leveraging innovation to improve outcomes across the behavioral health continuum.
