The Ladson, S.C.-based mental health hospital currently has 60 beds, but the additional beds will be designated to provide care to adolescent patients.

The new unit will offer access to social workers, digital resources, group therapy and mental assessments to address the increasing mental health crisis children are facing on a national and statewide level, according to the report.

At the Becker's Fall Behavioral Health Summit, taking place November 4–5 in Chicago, behavioral health leaders and executives will explore strategies for expanding access to care, integrating services, addressing workforce challenges and leveraging innovation to improve outcomes across the behavioral health continuum.
