The Dr. Lorna Breen Health Care Provider Protection Act became law in March 2022, and bipartisan leaders in the Senate and House introduced a bill Jan. 30 that would reauthorize the legislation through 2029, according to a Jan. 30 news release from the American Hospital Association.
In addition to extending the provision of grants to assist healthcare organizations in offering behavioral health services for front-line workers, the bill would also reauthorize a national campaign focused on evidence-based solutions to address worker well-being.
If it is not reauthorized, the act would expire at the end of this year.
