Vanderbilt psychiatric hospital president to retire

The president of Vanderbilt Psychiatric Hospital in Nashville, Tenn., and Vanderbilt Behavioral Health has announced plans to retire at the end of the fiscal year.

Mary Pawlikowski first joined Vanderbilt Behavioral Health in 2015 as vice president of operations, according to a March 14 news release. She was promoted to chief operating officer in 2017 before being named interim president in 2020 and president in 2021.

During her tenure, Ms. Pawlikowski oversaw the creation of the psychiatric assessment service and the behavioral health clinical services center in 2023. She currently serves on three committees for the National Association of Behavioral Health.

A search process to find the next executive director of the psychiatric hospital has already begun, the release said.
