Tufts Medicine names Dr. Brent Forester psychiatrist-in-chief

Brent Forester, MD, joined Tufts Medicine as psychiatrist-in-chief and chairman for the department of psychiatry at Tufts Medical Center in Boston; the appointment became effective June 1.

Dr. Forester will also serve as the inaugural director of behavioral health for Burlington, Mass.-based Tufts Medicine, according to a news release.

He most recently served as geriatric psychiatry chief at McLean Hospital in Belmont, Mass., and senior medical director for value based care in population health management at Boston-based Mass General Brigham.

Dr. Forester’s research centers around novel therapeutic interventions for the behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia and team-based dementia care in primary care medical settings.
