Minneapolis-based Sagent Behavioral Health has named Shawna Gisch as CEO, effective April 6.
Ms. Gisch succeeds Mark Peterson, who will continue to serve on the company’s board of directors, according to an April 6 news release from the organization. She brings more than 20 years of experience in healthcare leadership, having held roles at UnitedHealthcare, Optum Health and Optum Rx.
During Mr. Peterson’s tenure, the organization expanded through the acquisition and integration of Ellie Mental Health’s 23 Minnesota clinics and consolidated six brands, including Nystrom & Associations, under the Sargent Behavioral Health name, the release said.
Sagent provides therapy, psychiatry and other mental health services for patients aged 3 or above and adults. The organization has over 80 clinic locations and employs 2,000 individuals across Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Missouri and North Dakota.
At the Becker's Fall Behavioral Health Summit, taking place November 4–5 in Chicago, behavioral health leaders and executives will explore strategies for expanding access to care, integrating services, addressing workforce challenges and leveraging innovation to improve outcomes across the behavioral health continuum.
