Hawaii hospital taps COO for behavioral health facility

Ewa Beach, Hawaii-based The Queen’s Medical Center—Kahi Mohala has named Sondra Brandon, APRN, as COO. 

Ms. Brandon will continue to serve as vice president of behavioral health and medicine clinical programs for The Queen’s Health System, according to a Dec. 18 news release. In this role, she oversees business and strategic planning for behavioral health and medicine services across the continuum of care. 

She joined the organization in 2016 as a psychiatric advanced practice registered nurse and nurse manager of telemetry at The Queen’s Medical Center—West Oahu in Ewa Beach, Hawaii, and was later promoted to director of behavioral health. Ms. Brandon began her healthcare career in 2009 as a graduate nurse at Queen’s Kahi Mohala.

Earlier this year, she became an American Academy of Nursing Fellow, representing the continued influence that nurses have on innovation, evidence-based solutions and community well-being.
