Former Optum mental health CEO joins board of mental health startup

The former head of Optum’s behavioral health division has joined Brightside Health’s board of directors.

The behavioral telehealth provider announced a $33 million series C funding round in a March 26 news release. Brightside Health also said Trip Hofer, who was CEO of Optum Behavioral Health Solutions from 2022 to 2023, would join its board. 

Mr. Hofer joined venture capital firm .406 Ventures as a partner in October. He is also CEO of Redox, an interoperability platform in .406 Ventures’ portfolio.
