Centene names chief medical officer for behavioral health

Centene has promoted Wendy Welch, MD, to chief medical officer for its behavioral health business.

Previously, Dr. Welch was medical director of behavioral health at Centene subsidiary Nebraska Total Care, according to her LinkedIn.

She has also previously held leadership positions at Cardinal Innovations Healthcare and GuideWell.
