Bridgeway, a nonprofit organization offering behavioral health and developmental disability services in Galesburg, Ill., has appointed Clay Cunningham vice president of behavioral health.

In the role, Mr. Cunningham will lead the organization’s behavioral health program, CEO Staci Danner said Feb. 9 in a news release. Bridgeway is a certified community behavioral health clinic, one of the few in Illinois.

Mr. Cunningham most recently served as executive director of behavioral health for a nonprofit health system, overseeing community mental health crisis services and substance use prevention services. He later led physician recruitment and retention across the hospital system.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Cunningham spent a decade at a Denver-area behavioral health organization, where he advanced from quality and compliance leadership to COO. During that time, the organization became the first community mental health center in Colorado to earn accreditation from Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities and began planning to become a certified community behavioral health clinic.
