The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration will use $27.5 million to bolster mental health and substance use prevention services for Native American tribes, state and local governments, and colleges and universities, according to an Aug. 27 news release. Another $49.1 will go to programs designed to increase behavioral healthcare access, youth mental health services and school-based programs.
SAMHSA will also allocate $16.6 million to funding opportunities to increase behavioral healthcare access regardless of financial status through supporting community behavioral health clinics and developing programs to improve health outcomes among communities disproportionately impacted by HIV and substance use disorders.
