Washington county lands $3M to bolster behavioral health, SUD access

Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash., has secured $3 million in congressional spending for Spokane County’s expanding sobering and recovery center.

Ms. Murray said the $3 million will allow the county to broaden its crisis stabilization center to include a 23-hour crisis relief center providing continuous behavioral healthcare, including mental healthcare and substance use care. 

County officials said the investment aims to support Spokane County’s regional behavioral health facilities in coordinating care and providing access to recovery-focused behavioral health services.
