Construction has begun on a $9 million behavioral services expansion at UPMC’s New Castle, Pa.-based Jameson Hospital.
The new 11-bed behavioral inpatient unit is expected to open next year in partnership with Southwest Behavioral Health Management Group, according to a June 9 news release.
“This was a gap that we identified within our service area that, clearly, we worked with our local partners to keep patients as local as we can, and we’re blessed to have this opportunity to care for those folks and keep them close to home,” the hospital’s president Dave Patton told WKBN.
At the Becker's Fall Behavioral Health Summit, taking place November 4–5 in Chicago, behavioral health leaders and executives will explore strategies for expanding access to care, integrating services, addressing workforce challenges and leveraging innovation to improve outcomes across the behavioral health continuum.
