Des Moines, Iowa-based UnityPoint Health – Eyerly Ball, which provides community-based mental health services in Central Iowa, has received a $1 million anonymous gift to establish its first endowment.
The unrestricted fund will support programs, services and staff, with discretion granted to President Cynthia Steidl-Bishop, according to a Jan. 16 news release. The endowment aims to strengthen mental healthcare delivery and support innovation across the 22 counties Eyerly Ball services.
The gift follows the opening of Eyerly Ball’s centralized facility in April, which houses a clinic-designed space, peer-led drop-in center and onsite pharmacy.
Eyerly Ball is part of UnityPoint Health, a non-profit health system providing nearly 8 million patient visits annually throughout Iowa, western Illinois and southern Wisconsin.
