CARE Counseling has 10 locations in the Minneapolis area, and employs over 200 clinicians.

The deal is Minnetonka-Minn.-based UnitedHealth Group’s largest acquisition in its hometown market in several years, according to the Star Tribune.
Optum owns two other mental health practices in Minnesota, part of Refresh Mental Health, according to the Star Tribune. The company acquired Refresh Mental Health from private equity firm Kelso & Co. in 2022. The group has more than 300 locations in 37 states.
