King of Prussia-Pa.-based Universal Health Services and Livonia, Mich.-based Trinity Health Michigan will open their joint behavioral health hospital in the near future.
The health systems held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Southridge Behavioral Hospital May 21. The 96–bed facility in Grand Rapids, Mich. will serve adult and geriatric patients. The hospital will employ 170 full-time and part-time staff.
Construction on the $46 million facility began in 2023.
Another UHS joint venture — a 96-bed behavioral health hospital with Allentown, Pa.-based Lehigh Valley Health Network — is expected to open later in 2025.
