UHS' $61M joint venture behavioral hospital to triple region's inpatient capacity

Allentown, Pa.-based Lehigh Valley Health Network and King of Prussia-based Universal Health Services are joining forces on a $61 million behavioral health hospital in Hanover Township, Pa., the Philadelphia Business Journal reported Feb. 13.

Builders will break ground on the 144-bed, 97,000-square-foot hospital in early 2024, the report said. It is set to open in the second half of 2025 and will nearly triple the inpatient behavioral care capacity in the region.

The hospital is expected to create more than 300 full-time jobs, the report said. Financial terms of the joint venture were not disclosed.
