Cherry Health’s program provides employee counseling, financial and legal services to roughly 150 businesses, churches and schools. With the acquisition, the program will now serve 550 organizations between Cherry Health and Pine Rest.
The program provides employees with three to seven appointments with a behavioral health worker and provides 24/7 access to a behavioral health hotline. Plans through the program vary from $10 to $27 per employee.
“We want to help keep the workforce healthy, prevent crises before they occur, and drive behavioral healthcare costs down for as many Michigan employees as possible,” Jean Holthaus, director of Pine Rest’s employee assistance program, said in a March 22 press release. “We aren’t just caring for clients or employees of companies that contract with us, we are improving the lives of people in our community – our friends, neighbors and families. We also know that as we help employees thrive, we are helping local businesses grow and succeed.”
The transition was effective March 10.
