Bright Path Center, a walk-in, standalone behavioral healthcare crisis center, has opened in Doylestown, Pa.

The center provides 24/7 support for children, teens and adults experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis. Individuals can walk in without an appointment for services that may include crisis intervention, stabilization and connection to community resources, according to an Aug. 17 news release from Lenape Valley Foundation, which operates the center.

Bright Path Center will also offer short-term crisis residential care and withdrawal management in the future.

The center was created through a joint effort involving Bucks County Department of Behavioral Health/Developmental Programs, Bucks County Drug & Alcohol Commission, Phoenix-based Magellan Behavioral Health, Penn Medicine Doylestown Health and Lenape Valley Foundation.

The project was funded in part by a $7 million investment from Pennsylvania’s opioid distribution settlement fund. Additional funding came from state and county agencies and fundraising programs.

At the Becker's Fall Behavioral Health Summit, taking place November 4–5 in Chicago, behavioral health leaders and executives will explore strategies for expanding access to care, integrating services, addressing workforce challenges and leveraging innovation to improve outcomes across the behavioral health continuum.
