The state of Ohio is directing $20 million to support six children’s wellness campuses across the state.
The funds will be used to create four new child wellness campuses and expand two existing campuses. The facilities aim to provide short-term therapeutic care for children and youths with complex needs, according to a Feb. 12 news release from Gov. Mike DeWine’s office.
The organizations receiving funding are:
- Talbert House (Cincinnati)
- Unison Behavioral Health Group (Toledo)
- Safe Opportunity Foster Alliance — expansion, (Portsmouth)
- Buckeye Ranch (Grove City)
- Cleveland Christian Home — expansion (Cleveland)
- Champions Bridge (Columbus)
Child wellness campuses offer a safe place for children to stay if they are not already in licensed residential care, according to the release.
