According to a Feb. 17 news release, Ochsner Behavioral Health Acadiana will be the largest behavioral health center in the region once completed. Construction is expected to be completed in 2026, with the facility opening later that year.
The new facility will have 62 beds, a spokesperson told Becker’s. The capacity can expand up to 100 beds through partnerships with nearby Ochsner and Oceans facilities.
The project was first announced in 2022, and was originally slated to open in 2024, according to The Acadiana Advocate. The facility will cost $22 million, according to the Advocate.
Jefferson, La.-based Oschner Health and Plano, Texas-based Oceans Healthcare operate a joint venture behavioral health facility in Shreveport, La.
Oceans Healthcare operates 25 behavioral health hospitals.
