Minneapolis-based Nystrom & Associates has acquired Mendota Heights, Minn.-based Ellie Mental Health’s Minnesota operations.

The merger creates one of the largest behavioral health networks in the region, with nearly 1,600 clinicians and 1.4 million patient appointments annually, according to an Aug. 4 news release. Nystrom aims to expand services to more communities, offering a broader range of specialized treatment options and maintaining multiple pathways to care. The organization’s services include therapy, psychiatry, substance use treatment and specialist programs for individuals, couples and families.

The unified organization — which plans to announce a new brand later this year — operates 84 locations across five states: Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota, Missouri and Wisconsin.

At the Becker's Fall Behavioral Health Summit, taking place November 4–5 in Chicago, behavioral health leaders and executives will explore strategies for expanding access to care, integrating services, addressing workforce challenges and leveraging innovation to improve outcomes across the behavioral health continuum.
