The extended care unit offers psychopharmacological treatment and rehabilitation including music and art therapy, reading and other exercises, the hospital said March 15. It is designed for patients to stay an average of 90 days.
Staff help secure housing for patients with housing insecurity, the hospital said. To reacclimate to living in the community, patients may also be accompanied by staff for trips to the grocery store and subway.
